Emergency and Education Communication Vehicle

The "Emergency and Education Communication Vehicle" (E2CV) of the Thailand National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) provides an interesting mix of uses which might be applied in Australia. The Thailand Ministry of Science and Technology in collaboration with Cisco Systems equipped a truck with broadband wireless communications and its own power supply. During an emergency this is used by response teams. When not needed for a disaster the vehicle is used for education in remote areas. That second use is innovative, as most emergency command vechicles sit idle in a car park.
