The International Hellenic University organizes an event on
Green ICT
on
Thursday March 17th 2011, in the University Auditorium at 17:00 – 19:30
Based on the interdisciplinary strategic research agenda of the European Union towards the 20-20-20 goal, the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector appears as a leading driver towards energy efficiency and environment-friendly energy management.
Acknowledging the importance for a low carbon economy, the International Hellenic University (IHU), in collaboration with the IEEE VTS&AESS Greece Chapter, is organising a Green ICT event, where field leaders from academia and the business sector will share valuable knowledge and expertise. The "Green ICT" event will cover important topics, including energy efficiency in telecommunication networks and the use of advanced ICT services for energy management in a Smart Grid environment. Scientists, professionals and students are cordially invited to attend.
Attendance is free to students and professionals who wish to become familiar with innovative solutions and future trends of Green ICT.Scientific Coordination: Prof. Ioannis Vlahavas

Transfer to IHU: There will be a free return bus service from Thessaloniki city centre (in front of AUTH Faculty of Engineering-Egnatia street) to the International Hellenic University for the workshop. Time of Departure is 16.15 (please arrive before 16.00 - priority will be given on a first come first served basis).
