Netbooks Under $200

Netbooks for $199 have now become available. An example is the DreamBook Lite E10 from Pioneer Computers Australia. This has a VIA-8505, 533Mhz processor, 128MB RAM, 2GB of Flash memory and a 0.1" (1024x600) LCD Screen. The keyboard of the unit appears a flat calculator like one, which may not be very comfortable for typing. But the greatest problem might be the decision to sell the unit with Microsoft Windows CE 6.0 as the default operating system. Google Andriod is a no cost option and would seem the better choice. Such a low cost netbook might be more suitable as a web appliance than a tablet computer (such as the Apple iPad) and for use by students. The major advantage is the provision of a physical keyboard.. However, it is not clear how robust the unit is.
