Dell are offering desktop computers, complete with an LCD monitor for $AU599 (Vostro 200 Slimtower) and laptop for $AU599 (Vostro 1500) in a brochure (valid until 28 February 2008). But this seems to be targeted only at small business. In a separate brochure the cheapest desktop PC is $AU999 laptop is $US749. This is a shame as I expect some people would appreciate a basic unit for email and the web.
I noticed the Everex Green PC (GPC) is being offered on Amazon.com for $US199.99 This doesn't include a monitor, which would add about $US150 to the price, bringing it up to about $350, plus shipping.
