Golden Ratio Built into Human Vision
According to Professor Adrian Bejan at Duke University, the Golden Ratio is built into human vision. This is detailed in his paper "The Golden Ratio Predicted: Vision, Cognition And Locomotion As A Single Design In Nature" (International Journal of Design & Nature and Ecodynamics, Vol4, Issue 2, 2009). I am not sure I am convinced by this argument, but did notice that wide screen computer displays have a width to height ratio of 1.6, which is the same as the golden ratio to one decimal place. Wide screen TVs are wider at approximately 1.8 (16:9).
