Greetings from the famous room N101 at the Research School of Computer Science at the Australian National University, where summer students are reporting on their projects. One project is "
Porting the Xen Hypervisor to Intel's Single-Chip Cloud Computer".
The SCC an experimental chip with 48 cores, each equivalent to an Intel P45C processor.
One feature is that cores can be switched off to save power when not needed. The problem is to get this to work in practice.
