My most popular web page is "
Indian Pacific: Sydney to Perth by Train", from a trip in 2005. I have now been asked by a reader, if Internet access is available on this, or other long distance trains in Australia. As far as I know it is not. Some suburban services and stations may have WiFi, but I don't think the trains themselves do. Even mobile phone coverage may be problematic on the more remote routes. But
Tesltra's coverage map (Telstra have the largest mobile network), does have a long thin line across the bottom of the continent, which is the route of the Indian Pacific train.
