The roads have a shrine to a saint or god ever few hundred meters. A Catholic property owner will maintain a pre-existing Hindu shrine on the roadside outside their house. The bus in the photo had a Hindu shrine, but the driver was wearing a santa hat with "Merry Christmas Goa" on it.
