Apps for Educators

IQPC are running a "New Generation Learning Spaces 2013 Conference" in Melbourne, 20 to 21 March 2013. This seems to be about physical classroom design. But also touches on e-learning. IQPC's newsletter about the conference had a useful list of the top 16 Apps for Educators:

6. Evernote
7. Dropbox
8. Groupboard
9. Bento
10. Prezi
11. Chirp
12. Wunderlist
13. TED
14. Epson iProjection

Of these I have used Blackboard as a student. It worked okay, but no better than Moodle (which is free open source software).  I am not sure what the two missing of the 16 are. I tend to use more general purpose and free applications, along with a basic text editor (to write HTML). It would be interesting to identify the common themes in the apps, such as composing, filing and collaborating.
