Revolution or Missed Opportunity?" (Architecture Australia, January/February 2012), Clare Newton and Lena Gan discuss the results of the Australian Government's Building The Education Revolution project to fund school buildings. They conclude that this came at the right time to incorporate student centred pedagogy, with many schools choosing to build large open flexible study areas, rather than traditional classrooms. Some building also demonstrated sustainable design and the use of ICT in teaching. This is a surprisingly positive review, given the criticism of waste and lack of community input about the program in the media.
