Position OverviewApplications are invited for the above opportunity within University Records. The successful applicant will be experienced in the development of policies and procedures with a focus on the electronic environment, the implementation and maintenance of an EDRMS, as well as the management of a small team ensuring objectives are achieved.

University Records is the central area responsible for the development of the University's information management policies and procedures. In addition, University Records carries responsibilities for the specification and implementation of an Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS), the processing and management of Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and the management of the University's records.

This position will contribute to the development, implementation and revision of University wide policies, guidelines and procedures for records and information management, including compliance with legislation, disposal authorities and requirements for electronic records. This position also contributes to the strategic planning of records management services and provides strategic and procedural advice to the Office of the Vice-Chancellor and the University Community and stakeholders.

Position description
Responsible toManager, University Records
Role statement1. Under the broad direction of the Manager, University Records manage the operations of and supervise staff in University Records, including supervising the completion of more complex work and projects.

2. Identify training needs, develop training programs and deliver staff training in the use of records related functions including the ANU Information Management Vocabulary, disposal authorities and automated recordkeeping systems.

3. Contribute to the design and implementation of an EDRMS for the University, including change management processes, and direct the systems administration of the University's EDRMS, including the ongoing management and process improvement.

4. Liaise with clients to assess their records management requirements and provide relevant advice.

5.Contribute to the development and review of work practices, records procedures and guidelines.

6. Undertake the completion and management of FOI requests to the University.

7. Represent University Records at relevant forums in the University as well as with external agencies such as the National Archives of Australia and commercial providers.
Selection criteria

1. Progress towards postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

2. Proven leadership expertise and experience in staff management including the development of subordinate staff.

3. Well-developed analytical skills, including an ability to interpret the legislative framework relevant to the field of information management and implement policy and processes to meet the University's needs.

4. Extensive relevant experience in the implementation, administration and use of Electronic Document and Records Management Systems coupled with the ability to communicate effectively with IT specialists.

5. Highly developed written and oral communication skills together with the ability to negotiate effectively with senior managers and client groups, and deliver training programs.

6. Proven ability to set priorities, work effectively in a team environment and use initiative to make sound judgments.

7. High-level customer focus in the delivery of administrative services, an ability to adapt to a changing work environment and to lead change management processes.

8. A demonstrated high-level understanding of equal opportunity principles and a commitment to the application of EO policies in a university context.
