The Australian National University has announced that it has developed wearable light-weight solar panels under a $2.3M Capability and Technology Demonstrator Program (CTD) contract with the Australian Department of Defence. Prototype flexible silicon photo-voltaic strips have been attached to the helmet and harness of the standard Australian Army combat uniform.
