LED Chandeliers

One use for LED lights is in a Chandelier. Tiny low voltage LEDs can be distributed around a chandelier far more easily than incandescent lights. The low voltage of the LEDs increases the safety and the low power use reduces the thickness of cable needed. The efficiency of the LEDs reduces the heat and so allows plastic to be used in place of glass. As the LEDs have a long life they can be built into the chandelier, rather than being user replaceable. Older places of worship, such as the Sultan Ahmed Mosque (the Blue Mosque) of Istanbul have been retrofitted with incandescent lighting. These could benefit from fitting small LEDs with less obtrusive wiring.
