ABSTRACT:
This purpose of this seminar is to discuss issues encountered in developing a Linux based, Internet enabled, longtrough controller. A practical demonstration of the device will be provided during this seminar, along with the results of testing the software and some hardware components.
BIO:
George Cora completed a BEng (Comms) from Curtin University in 1987. He has since worked in the RAAF, and in the public service as an IT specialist. For the last 12 years George has been the Managing Director of his own software company, which develops open source and proprietary software tools. these tools are in use around the world. George is currently completing a Master of Studies at the ANU.

Linux Active Solar Tracker
George Cora will demonstrate his "Active Solar Tracker" at the Australian national University in Canberra at 3pm. This is a computer controlled motor which turns a solar panel to face the sun. The unit runs the Linux operating system and has an interface to allow remote monitoring:
