Join us for a sandwich lunch in the Ian Ross Staff Room (Ian Ross Building 32) and a brief presentation on Commercialisation Australia (CA), which is the Australian Government initiative that assists researchers, entrepeneurs and innovative companies to convert intellectual property into successful commercial venturesPatrick Mooney, Case Manager with CA will discuss how it can assist with the commercialisation of products out of the ANU or ANU spinout companies, including: what the program is; what it offers (grant types and support mechanisms); eligibility criteria; application and evaluation process; support for successful applicants; Q&A.
BIO:
Patrick has over 20 years experience in technology commercialisation and international business in the software, telecommunications, energy, education and professional services sectors.His roles have included business founder, investor, commercialisation manager, strategy director, APAC regional manager, international sales and marketing, global alliance and partner management. He has also been an advisor at CEO and general management level to a wide range of businesses.
He has worked closely with major research bodies (e.g. as ICT sector commercialisation manager at the CSIRO), business incubators, venture capital firms, entrepreneurs, angel investors, international corporations with partnering programs, industry associations and service providers to small business.
Patrick is co-author of Enterprise & Venture Capital (2009), sponsored by the Australian Private Equity & Venture Capital Association and launched by Senator Carr. He is also adjunct lecturer in international entrepreneurship and strategy at the Australian School of Business and has been a speaker at various industry fora on entrepreneurship and technology commercialisation.
He holds a BA in economics and statistics from the Australian National University and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management.
