Australian Climate Advocacy Fund
James Thier will be talking about the Climate Advocacy Fund, 6pm, 28 October 2010 in Canberra. Unlike other ethical investment funds, this one aims to change the behaviour of the organisations it in invests in to make them greener. It is available as a superannuation investment from Australian Ethical Investment.
I am one of the "nominees" for the scheme: the fund issues me with a bundle of shares from the fund so I can vote at shareholders meetings (I don't get the money from the shares, this is just a way to have a voice at the meetings).
Considerable research and thought has gone into the way the fund works. James Thier, undertook international research into such funds as a Churchill scholar.
