Australian Defence Force Future Role in Afghanistan

Professor Hugh White, Head of the Strategic & Defence Studies Centre, will speak on the "Future role of the ADF in Afghanistan" at the Australian National University, Canberra, 6pm, 10 August 2010.

Topic: Future role of the ADF in Afghanistan.

Abstract: This session of Political Academy will examine the role that Australia through the ADF has played within Afghanistan and the likely course that this role will take in the future.

Questions to perhaps consider when approaching this topic are; what are Australia's long term strategic interests? what are the future challenges for the ADF as the 21st Century unfolds?
