The
ABS reports that the ACT continues to have the largest proportion of households with computers (88%) and Internet access (82%). The ABS seems to be courting controversy by reporting that "
The majority of ACT households have taken steps to protect their children's personal safety while using the Internet at home...". This contradicts the position of the Minister for Communications that mandatory censorship of the Internet by the government is required to protect children.
