Lerida Estate Survives Bushfire at Lake George

In early November I visited the Lerida Estate Winery for the Canberra Wine Festival. The media reported a bush fire at Lake George. The Winemakers Jim Lumbers and Anne Caine have emailed to say the fire came within a few hundred metres of the winery, but their architect designed shed was undamaged.

You can track the fires with the Sentinel national bushfire monitoring system. My experimental version of the interface is a bit quicker than the official one, but not as reliable.
