ACT Government Records Digitisation Standard

The Territory Records Office of the Australian Capital Territory has issued a series of standards for records management and more recently for electronic records. These standards apply to local government agencies in Canberra. They are based on these used by the Austrlaian Government. It is not clear if the ACT really needs its own standards (being essentially a city council). They may be better off just using the federal standards, or those of a state government, unaltered. However, the standards are well written and very readable, providing a good overview of the topic:
  1. Territory Records Standard - Number 1 : Records Management Programs
  2. Territory Records Standard - Number 2 : Appraisal
  3. Territory Records Standard - Number 3 : Records Description and Control
  4. Territory Records Standard - Number 4 : Access
  5. Territory Records Standard - Number 5 : Recordkeeping and Outsourced Government Business
  6. Territory Records Standard - Number 6 : Digital Records
  7. Territory Records Standard - Number 7 : Physical Storage of Records
  8. Territory Records Standard - Number 8 : Business Continuity and Records Management
  9. Territory Records Standard - Number 9 : Records Digitisation and Conversion
