Indian Electric Car

While the two door Smart Car seems to suit the narrow cobblestone streets of Europe, the car for the Indian city seems to be the slightly larger four door Suzuki hatch-back. In one street in Goa I found what appeared to be a plastic bodied two door battery electric car made in Bangalore by Reva.

My mother owned a Reva for about 5-6 years and eventually had to sell it off for personal reasons.

When we first bought the car in 2002, it was a rather new concept. The public in general definitely thought it was not worth the price considering you could get a second-hand version of India's most reliable car (Maruti) for half the price.

It should have been the original Tata Nano if the price wasn't that exorbitant. In any case, it has its flaws. Maybe I'll post an article about my experiences in my blog.

The car looks like a Smart Fortwo and indeed it is an electric car. Now that electric car is more and more patroned by people, I hope that people would really be using an electric car in the near future. I'm sure used car dealers long island will have the needed support in getting rid of the old cars.
